Vehicle description
These models appeared from 1921 right up until the 1950's and was designed for and used by people who cannot use pedals. It has a chassis made of steel tubes with two big wheels at the rear and a deep basketry seat. At the front, the open tubular frame ends with a wooden footrest floor where two tubes hold the steering column. There is a hand pedal with a chain for transmission to the front wheel. There is also a small directional front wheel with drum brakes on the front wheel. They cost originally 950,000 Francs, depending on model. This example was acquired in France from the Museum of Peter Harris, renowned vintage bicycle collector in 2011 and imported into the UK by the vendor. The frame, basket seat and tyres are in sound working order.
