Aston Martin DB9 Volante (2007)
Vehicle descriptionLaunched in 2003 as successor to the DB7, the DB9 is the first model to be built at Aston Martin's new factory at Gaydon, Warwickshire where production continues today. Like its predecessor, the DB9 was styled by Ian Callum, the finishing touches being applied by Henrik Fisker. State-of-the-art manufacturing techniques are employed in making the aluminium/composite body, which is robotically assembled using a combination of self-piercing rivets and adhesive. Although some 25% lighter than that of the DB7, this advanced bodyshell possesses double the structural stiffness.
